Societies Program

From the first day of medical school, each student in ArizonaMed will be assigned to a learning community called a Society. Each Society will be further subdivided into groups of 6 students, which will stay together for all four years of the curriculum. In these small groups students will:

  1. learn interviewing, physical examination, and patient care skills at the patient beside
  2. develop clinical thinking, documentation and presentation skills
  3. provide consistent and structured exposure to modern concepts of professionalism. Perhaps most importantly students in the Societies will receive long-term professional mentoring from some of our best clinical educators.
